NEW TO THE SCENE

True to Editions' dedication for experimentation and discovery in art and design, this year’s showcase is a potent platform bustling with an energy of ‘newness.’ From original collections and collaborations to first-time exhibitors in the region, here are some of the presentations and showcases not to miss at Editions 2025.

Limited-editions are not widely showcased in the Arab World, making this an opportunity to engage with art and design in novel ways, often with a wider range in pricing. With a mix of established design houses and galleries and emerging talent, Editions offers a variety of options for collectors looking to encounter novel, bespoke pieces rarely exhibited in the region.

Bureau of Innovation (Paris, France)

Operating as a hybrid between gallery and digital curator, Bureau of Innovation imagines what future “classics” of design embody. BOI will mark their global launch at Editions, showcasing a range of furniture, from Tom Fereday’s sleek speakers to margot lounges and surfaced benches. With an emphasis on values like material innovation, distinctive design practices, and limited-edition production, the platform defies conventions around design, questioning the way we view, conceptualise, and interact with a space and the pieces that inhabit it. Through their unique approach, BOI is reenvisioning galleries’ roles in curation and presentation, and how they can continue to evolve.

Despite how nascent the brand is, with their official launch this November, founders Holly Lucas and Sam Henley have years of experience pioneering future-facing concepts internationally, from Australia to France. After more than a decade transforming hospitality and restaurants into cultural experiences, Lucas explores creative strategy and immersion, while Henley, who founded the stone firm Agglomerati in London, hones his eye for top craftsmanship and partnerships across developers, fabricators, and designers. When combined, their platform strikes a balance between permanence and encounter, materiality and narrative.

The Rooster Gallery (Vilnius, Lithuania)

Returning to Editions, the Rooster Gallery is experimenting with their booth this year, bringing a solo presentation by long-time collaborator Sandra Strele. Strele, whose works sold out at Art Dubai 2025, is a contemporary Latvian painter working in the field of monumental and large-scale painting, creating serial stories. In line with the fair’s model for innovation and curiosity, the artist will debut her first design works, bringing her emblematic, whimsical landscapes and tales to a different canvas.

Created specifically for Editions, the Rooster Gallery and Strele will introduce a new series of hand-painted collectible furniture pieces. The artist, recognised for her highly-detailed paintings, is fusing fine art and design by branching out into sculpture and functionality. The pieces in the collection, whether cabinets or dressers, will all be adorned with sprawling intricate, minute stories characteristic of Strele’s works, blending form, function, and painterly expression. Marking a first for both the gallery and the artist, the booth will invite visitors into Strele’s imaginative world of “secret observers,” where her fantastical artworks and collectible design intersect.

Antilla di Lauro (Dubai, UAE)

Dubai-based Antilla Di Lauro has a long background of creating and designing for high-profile collectors and clients, including royals and luxury hospitality projects. A first-time exhibitor at Editions, Di Lauro has an affinity for crafting multi-layered works that echo the complexity of human existence, manifesting into one-of-a-kind textiles and rugs. Her practice is rooted in an architectural education and an early collaboration with Patricia Urquiola, which shaped her sensitivity to material and form.

As a designer-led business, she approaches creativity and commerce through her distinct lens on textiles, which she uses as a medium of inquiry from where striking form and refined materiality channel the transformative power of art as an instrument for self-reflection. Further building on this deep conviction in art and design, Di Lauro will be unveiling a new line of ceramics, departing from her familiar method, but still infusing the works with the layering and narratives typical of her practice.

Galerie Geek Art (Tokyo & Delhi)

With a presence in both Japan and India, Galerie Geek Art is bringing its dedication to fostering cross-cultural dialogue and imagination to the Gulf for the first time. The gallery’s presentation will feature a mix of eight up-and-coming and established Japanese artists in conversation with a bold piece by Indian artist Harsha Durugadda, all answering to collective anxieties and nostalgias. They will also be showcasing two works by Yuka Numata, whose work examines the interplay of digital and analogue, in the common areas of Editions as an added activation.

Inspired by animist traditions, their booth’s concept “Neo-Animism” emerges out of an urgent necessity to reconnect with the environment, our communities, and ourselves in an increasingly digitalised world. Dissolving boundaries between subject and object, and nature and culture, the presentation reveals a shared sentiment, arising from the exchange of materials, memories, and forces. From the way the artists have played and interacted with their materials and surfaces, to the heightened sensitivity of viewers, meant to resonate and connect with the pieces on different levels, GEEK/ART’s booth invites co-creation and deep listening.

Maseer Collective x Aeon Fine Jewellery (Dubai, UAE)

In honour of 2025 being named the Year of Community in the UAE, as well as the celebration of the 50th Jubilee of the Deaf Arab Community across the Arab World, Maseer Collective and Aeon Fine Jewellery are collaborating to commemorate the historic moment. Offering a platform where creativity and social inclusion can intersect, and where design can become a language of belonging, the pair shines a dedicated spotlight on Emirati Sign Language. Despite being a rich and expressive form of communication deeply rooted in the region, the language rarely receives recognition and visibility, something Maseer is actively working to rewrite.

Maseer Collective’s launch at Editions marks a celebration of the individuality, beauty, and importance inherent in Emirati Sign Language, inviting audiences to discover and appreciate its history and artistry. Beyond their release of a carefully-crafted, custom necklace capsule with Aeon, the collective will also host live Emirati sign language classes to introduce visitors to the region’s Deaf community and a powerful form of communication that remains overlooked.
